Journey of the PUMPKINS
Planted....June 20th

Growing up the outside of back fence with string for support.

Over the top and into the backyard where they will get more sun. July 27th

Rooting a Pineapple

First twist out the leaves-they pop out.

Remove all the sad looking leaves.

See those little dry brown roots!
Dry for one day.
Then place the base in water and wait till the roots grow long.
Plant in light mix of pearlite and dirt.
In about two years a baby pineapple will begin to grow.

Historic RCA Coast Station KPH
RCA / Marconi Wireless Stations:
Guglielmo Marconi sited and commissioned the building of wireless telegraphy transmitting station in Bolinas and receiving station in Marshall, on Tomales Bay, in 1913-14. They formed the foundation for the most successful and powerful ship to shore and land station, known as "KPH," on the Pacific Rim.
You can see the station at the end of the tunnel

I took this picture...but, let show you some images from the web....

OK, this is not the cypress tunnel....but so pretty....

Check out the wind.....

Bruce has seen the light!!

Cypress trees bent by the constant coastal winds...they call them flag-shaped trees as they look like a flag blowing in the wind.

My camera doesn't capture it but there are purple, yellow, red and white wildflowers in bloom on this steep hillside.

Looking off to the right as we drive out to the point.

Looking off to the left as we drive out to the point.

Almost invisible black tailed deer

Don't you just love mist moving over land....

I had to borrow this picture from the web as I did not get a good shot of the lighthouse....I took pictures from the top while Bruce descended the three hundred plus steps to the bottom. Yea Bruce:)

Here they are in the greenhouse....I bought a few of them as they were half price....Picked a large one for my project of creating a birdbath.
You take one large leaf....build up a hill of sand or dirt....put a plastic bag over that pile....lay the leaf face side down....spread a half inch layer of cement over the entire leaf....wait till that dries...peel the leaf off....paint or stain and coat with sealant.
Fun? Yes. Who wants to have a birdbath making party?

Now it needs to be painted or stained and then sealed
